The Lady Raiders took to the road Tuesday night, traveling down US 20 to LaGrange to face Lakeland. The host Lady Lakers scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-6 lead, then held off a furious Lady Raider rally in the seventh to claim a 10-9 victory.
Urbanski’s two-run shot over the left field fence capped off a four-run fifth for the Lady Raiders which knotted the count at 5-all. The shortstop also smacked a double in the tilt.
Goodwin knocked in two runs with a single and Felice Blasko drove home two with a double and a single. Jazmin Bell slapped a RBI double and Rachel Humbarger cracked a RBI single.
Kaitlyn Keck and Abbey Priestley both lined two singles and knocked in three runs for the Lady Lakers. Kylee Waldron plated two runs with a home run and a single, Cassidi Parham collected three hits and a RBI, Jaden Moore poked a RBI single, Kennadee Kerns popped a pair of doubles and Cheyenne Short legged out a double.
Keck, who relieved starter Parham in the fifth inning and worked the final 2.2 frames, got the pitching nod. The Lakeland duo combined to whiff five and walk three.
Knisley went the distance for Northridge. She fanned one and did not walk a batter.
