Middlebury’s Summer Festival is on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.

This is the 54th year for the Middlebury Summer Festival, held annually on the last weekend in June.

The Summer Festival Parade is one of the state’s largest festival parades.

Hosted by the Middlebury Chamber of Commerce, the Summer Festival will feature live bluegrass and gospel music, free activities for the children, more than 10 food vendors, crafters, a 5K and 3-on-3 basketball.

Entry deadline for basketball is June 9 by calling LaGwana at 260-768- 7878.

The 5K run/walk kicks off Saturday at 8 a.m. at 106 State St. Registration is on the chamber’s web site at middleburyinchamber.com/summer-festival.

Early pre-registration cost is $12 for the 1 Mile Fun Run for youths 12 years old and under and $17 for the 5K. Everyone that preregisters by June 4 will be guaranteed a Tshirt. Online registration will be available through race morning until 7:15 a.m.

Registration and check-in for both races start at 6:45 a.m. at Memorial Park. There will be awards for first, second, and third overall male and female in the 5K. Age groups include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-plus.

The one-mile fun run medals go to the top five boys and top five girls.

The event is made possible by numerous local donors. The proceeds from the race go to Northridge Middle and High School Cross Country programs.
